How Energy Healing Can Support Your Wellbeing

Many of us spend so much time caring for others, meeting expectations and pushing through daily pressures that we lose touch with what our body is quietly trying to tell us.

Stress, anxiety, exhaustion, overwhelm, difficulty sleeping, emotional ups and downs, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself can all be signs that something needs your attention. They aren't signs that you've failed or that there's something wrong with you. Often, they're invitations to pause, listen and reconnect.

I believe our bodies are constantly communicating with us. When we create space to slow down and listen, we often discover that beneath the noise and busyness is a deep wisdom that already knows what we need.

Energy healing can offer a gentle way to support that process.

What Is Energy Healing?

Energy healing is based on the understanding that wellbeing involves more than just the physical body. Our thoughts, emotions, experiences, relationships, and beliefs can all influence how we feel and function.

Rather than trying to "fix" you, energy healing creates a space where your own innate healing intelligence can be supported. I t invites stillness, awareness and the opportunity to notice what may be asking for your attention.

Every person's experience is different, but many people describe feeling deeply relaxed, lighter emotionally, more centred, or simply more connected to themselves after a session.

Have a read of my Reviews to see what others have experienced.

Supporting the Nervous System

One of the most common reasons people seek energy healing is because they are living in a near-constant state of stress.

When we're overwhelmed, our nervous system can become stuck in a cycle of alertness and survival. We may find ourselves constantly thinking, worrying, rushing, or feeling as though we can never truly switch off.

Energy healing can help create the conditions for the body to move out of this state and into a place of greater rest and restoration. As the nervous system settles, people often notice improvements in their sleep, emotional resilience, clarity of mind and overall sense of wellbeing.

This isn't because someone is "doing healing" to you. Often it's because your system is finally being given permission to breathe.

Different Approaches to Energy Healing

There are many different forms of energy healing, each with its own approach and philosophy. The are the ones that I currently practice:

Reiki

Reiki is perhaps one of the best-known forms of energy healing. Originating in Japan, it involves gentle touch or hands placed just above the body. Many people find Reiki deeply calming and restorative.

Esoteric Healing

Esoteric Healing works with the energetic, emotional, and psychological aspects of wellbeing. It recognises that our experiences, beliefs, and emotional patterns can influence how energy flows through the body.

Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, it explores the deeper layers that may be contributing to imbalance and supports greater harmony between body, mind, and spirit. Through touch, it shows you discomfort where emotions are stored deep within your tissues, muscle and fascia. Bringing these to your attention helps you to begin to heal these areas.

Acupressure Ear Seeds

Ear seeds are a gentle, non-invasive technique based on principles used in traditional Chinese medicine. Small seeds are placed on accupressure points of the ear and can continue providing support between sessions.

Many people use them to support relaxation, sleep, stress management and emotional wellbeing.

Meditation and Mindfulness

Meditation and mindfulness practices can complement energy healing beautifully. They encourage us to become more present, more aware of our inner world and more connected to ourselves.

Sometimes healing begins simply by learning to be present with what is.

Is Energy Healing Recognised by the NHS?

This is a question I'm often asked.

Reiki is generally considered a complementary therapy rather than a medical treatment. It is not routinely offered as part of standard NHS care, although some hospitals and healthcare settings have introduced Reiki and other complementary therapies to help support patient wellbeing, particularly in areas such as relaxation, emotional support and palliative care.

It's important to remember that Reiki and other energy healing modalities are intended to complement, not replace, appropriate medical care and advice.

Finding What Feels Right for You

There is no single healing approach that works for everyone.

What matters most is finding a practice, practitioner, or approach that resonates with you and feels supportive. Healing is rarely about quick fixes. More often, it's a journey of becoming more aware of yourself, reconnecting with your own wisdom, and creating the conditions for lasting change.

If you're curious about energy healing, approach it with an open mind and gentle curiosity.

Notice how you feel.

Pay attention to what supports you.

Trust your experience.

Sometimes the greatest shifts begin not with doing more, but with creating the space to truly listen.
