Clear And Rebalance Your Chakras - Feel Relaxed and Recharged

What is Reiki and how can it support you?

Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive energy healing practice. The word Reiki means “universal life force energy”. In a session, I use a calm, supportive approach to help energy flow more freely through your body and energy centres. Many people choose Reiki to help them feel more relaxed, balanced and supported. It is a complementary therapy, so it is not a replacement for medical care.

Who can receive Reiki?

It is safe for adults, children, mothers–to–be, babies and animals.

How does Reiki work?

Reiki is based on the understanding that we are more than just our physical body and that our wellbeing can be influenced by the flow and balance of our energy.

During a Reiki session, I gently place my hands on or just above the body, allowing Reiki energy to flow where it is needed. You don't need to concentrate, meditate or even understand how Reiki works. Your only job is to get comfortable, relax and simply receive.

People experience Reiki in all sorts of ways. You may notice warmth or tingling, feel deeply relaxed, see colours or images, experience emotions coming to the surface, or simply feel peaceful and still. You may also feel very little during the treatment itself. There is no right or wrong way to experience Reiki.

What does science say?

Reiki is a complementary therapy and research into exactly how it works is still developing. Although studies have explored Reiki and people's experiences of it, there isn't currently enough high-quality scientific evidence to confirm a specific biological mechanism or to show that Reiki energy itself can be objectively measured.

For me, Reiki doesn't need to sit in competition with conventional medicine. I see it as a gentle complementary practice that can offer you space to slow down, rest and reconnect with yourself.

And sometimes, having an hour where there is absolutely nothing you need to do, fix or achieve can be rather lovely in itself.

Reiki is offered as a complementary wellbeing practice and is not intended to diagnose, treat or replace medical care. If you have symptoms or health concerns, please speak to an appropriate healthcare professional.

What happens at a Reiki session?

Before you arrive I create a sacred space and invite in universal healing energy for your highest good. We will have a chat, complete a new client form (if you haven’t already done this online) and set your intentions for healing.

Reiki is given fully clothed, in a gently lit treatment room with soft music and healing frequencies or we can take the table outdoors into my garden and listen to the sounds of the birds and neighbourhood (weather permitting). You will be invited to lay down on your back on my treatment bed, which I’ve lovingly prepared with fresh linen and snuggly blankets.

All I ask is that you simply be, there’s nothing for you to do but listen to my voice and relax.  I will place my hands gently on or near your main chakras. I will show you the hand positions before I start and please do tell me if you find any of the hand positions uncomfortable as I can adapt. Towards the end I will ask you to roll onto your side so I can access your back.

It can also be given seated if you are unable or do not wish to lie down.

I will invite you to bring in some gentle movement, before slowly moving to a sitting position. We’ll then spend 5-10 minutes to share anything that arose during the session.

What will I feel during/after a Reiki session?

This varies from person to person – you may feel all, some or none of these – my clients tell me they can feel:

  • warmth coming from my hands

  • cold and or warm sensations in different parts of their body

  • gentle muscle twitches as their body releases stored emotions

  • soft tingling sensations, similar to pins and needles

  • my hands may be near their head but they feel that I am touching their feet

Can I receive Reiki remotely via distance healing?

From a traditional Japanese Reiki perspective, the Reiki Distance Healing Technique focuses on offering Reiki from a state of Oneness, or connection to everything. In this way, the practitioner isn’t “sending” Reiki, instead it’s feeling one with another person and sharing Reiki this way.

Distance energy healing, sometimes called remote healing, is the practice of sending healing energy to someone who is not physically present. This concept may seem unusual, but it is rooted in the understanding that energy is not limited by space or time.

The same benefits are felt as would be expected in an in person session.

How long does a Reiki session last?

In total our time together is 45 mins, your time on the treatment bed is around 20 – 30 minutes and I will spend time before and after your treatment to answer any questions you may have.  I will ask you if you’d like to share anything that came up whilst having the treatment and if you’d like I will share with you anything I sensed.

How many Reiki sessions do I need?

We are all individuals and it’s your personal choice, your body intuitively knows when it is out of balance.  Some of my clients have fortnightly sessions, some monthly and some as and when they feel they need a pick me up or to relax.  Healing is a process, and it’s down to you – I merely channel the energy and create the environment for you to receive, it is your self awareness and intention that heals.

What should I wear for Reiki?

Anything - my hands will hover over or lightly upon you and there is no need to remove any clothing.

Can children have a Reiki session?

Yes, Reiki can be a gentle and calming option for children. I’ll always talk it through with you first so we can make sure it feels right for your child and their needs. A parent or guardian should be involved in the booking and be present for the session.

Had the most amazing healing session with Jacqui — truly something special. We went through Reiki, energy polarisation, a bit of meditation, and she even did a body reading that was spot-on. I was a bit scattered to start but left feeling grounded, calm and lighter. Jacqui has such a gentle, intuitive way of working — you feel so safe and held the whole time. If you’re into energy work or just curious, I can’t recommend a session with her enough. Total reset.Had the most amazing healing session with Jacqui — truly something special.  I went to see Jacqui to get some help to manage a particularly busy and stressful period of life. She took the time to get to know me, provided support and guidance as to the best treatment path, and was very kind and welcoming. Jacqui guided me in different techniques to calm the nervous system and tone the vagus nerve. She showed me how I could apply these at home, something which I have already put into place and felt the benefits of. I also had reiki healing, which left me incredibly calm and at peace. It helped to heal a couple of niggles which were lingering in my body too, which was a pleasant and very welcome surprise! Thank you Jacqui.
